S2K Worth the $$?
Im looking to buy a high class import again. Either a n/a 93-98 Supra or an S2K.
Just wanna learn a bit more about em.
1. Problem ridden?
2. Stock handling
3. Insurance rapes for a 18 year old?
4. Overall love of the car
Post anything else interesting bout it. Would be getting the silver paint for sure and would prob be only able to equip it with some volks and an intake right away. Thanks

Totally different cars. Can't compare the two. Both are great cars imo.

Take care of the TSBs, all the proper maintenance and don't *ABUSE* it and it's just as reliable as any other Honda.

Great IMO. You just have to get a feel for a RWD car with 50/50 weight distribution. I have to say it's much different than any FWD Honda I've ever driven. At this point I can push a Civic/Integ harder than I can my S (maybe I'm just afraid).

Most likely. Put the insurance in your parents' name(s).

I love it. You have a perma-grin when driving this car I swear. Top down, SoCal weather, I can't complain. The car fits me like a glove.

A test drive will probably make you a believer. A S2000 is not a car you can imagine with words. Go drive one and see if it's the car for you.

You'll like either. If you're going to be working on this car every weekend and have the money to put into it, go with the Supra. If you're going to be running stock, don't think twice about it and go with the S2k. But as it's been mentioned before, they're totally different cars, and I'm sure you'd like either one. I'd lean toward the S2k, but then again, this is the s2k forum, so I'm probably a bit biased.

They still have parts for them, and those engines are military grade. Either way, I went with the s2k, just cause I couldnt get a Supra and not go TT, and that was just out of the question.
Im sure you would be happy with either. Id say the Supra looks better, and will probably last you longer, the s2k handles better, and is probably funner to drive.

LOL my Red S2000 is my "Weekend Car" pffffffffffffffffffffffff............
Well at least she doesn't have to see snow.
I think the S is a great car. I've never been in a Supra so I can't comment on car at all.
But I can tell you this my S rocks
I haven't regretted buying the car at all, even when I make the car payments.

You are 17 and you've owned a high class import?
But you drive an 89 civic?
Anyway, you will not be disappointed, the S2000 is so much fun, everytime my bro lets me drive it this the look on my face

go with the S2K. I love the supra but in chicago to get a 93-98 you will be paying out the *** for a 6-11 year old car. There is nothing like the supra rolling up but man it is just so expensive for such an old car. If you are patient you can find a 00 or 01 for under 23k no problem. I can tell you from personal experience that the S2K catches everyones eye. I have had countless people in downtown compliment me on my car and its pretty much stock. I have not had any problems with my 00 S2K. I love the car and i think a blow off valve sounds nice but VTEC at 9K is just sweet. Best of luck to you.
