plan on goin to a road course just would like to know what most of you guys are goin to and which ones are worth the trip and ones that arent i heard there buuilding one at english town but not positive let me know thanks guys

 

Consider Pocono. Contact PDA, NASA or SCCA for dates. The HPDE's by PDA (www.imp-auto.com) are well done and use various course layouts. We go during the summer and to The Glen as well.

 

NASA Northeast will be at Lime Rock Park in November, http://www.nasanortheast.org ... we rebate 10% back to HT Members if 10 or more show at the the event. There is a thread over in the ITR Forum ... Lime Rock is in Connecticut - and fun!

I live in Mercer County, which is about dead center N-S of NJ, and I've been to VIR, BeaverRun, Pocono, and Summit Point in the past 6 months. Beaverrun is 5-7 hours from me, taking the PA turnpike from the first exit to the last. VIR was about 8 hours including 5 or 6 stops. Summit was less than 3.5. Pocono was around 2. I haven't been to Lime Rock or the Glen, so I can't comment on them.

 

I just came back from race school at Watkins Glen with EMRA (www.emraracing.org). It was a great weekend. Turns out that it is only a 4 hour drive from central NJ.

I am planning on driving with EMRA again at Lime Rock (3.5 hours away) on 31 Oct (time trial). Nov 1 is a race, but I can't make that one.

Also, SCCA has a race school at Summit Point (4 hours away ) this coming weekend. Good deal for $350. You need a car with an SCCA log though.

I was just thinking, anyone on the HT racing board interested in a get together? I'm starting to find out more HT road racers in NJ and interested in tossing ideas about marketing opportunities. Send me an e-mail at gsir_racing@yahoo.com
