It's been covered many of times already. But the easiest way to tell is by the "N" on Mugen. The entire word MUGEN is streched out wider than the Tenzo model, adn the "N" is directly under the bolt hole on the Tenzo cover, while it starts underneath the hole on the real cover and goes out further. Texture and color is also very similar when you look at them side by side.... I'd say the real one looks more brown-ish under the sunlight. Some say the timing belt cover has 2 indents also but they look the same to me... but the real one looks flat in between the 2 indents. That's about it for the visuals.

If you want something clean/nice looking and don't care about the $$$, the name, or the ridicule that might be incurred, stick with the Tenzo ones. They're actually waaay cheap now, you can get them for under a bill.

doesn't the type of metal in the mugen valve cover draw heat out of the engine head? That valve cover gets hot. I think its made out of magnesium.

i heard the mugen one dissipates heat better or something. i cant imagine there would any other functionality benefit between the 2 though. for $800 it should wipe my *** for me.

IF you flip them bother over, the mugen one has oil baffles on the backside, the fake ones dont. This means oil is just sloshing around all over the place.

Actually, a friend of mine has one on his car. He bought it before all the fakes came out. Sucks that some fake *** company puts out the same thing, for 700 dollars less and you get the same amount of respect as a real one with out anyone knowing its a fake. Hope Tenzo gets sued. Oh but it is still high priced. just my .02

me too I'd rock the tenzo one and save the other $700 for something else.

ah well. we can bitch and moan all we want and be 101% convinced that there is no feasable way that the mugen valve cover can be marketed at $800 a pop but the fact of the matter is Mugen still markets them at $800 a pop and people still buy them so **** it.
