Dished end Lug nuts?
hey guys, these were on sale @ inlinefour.com for $40 and it says that they have a dished end. does this mean that the ends are rounded/tapered? sorry for the newbie question.
I never heard of dished end lug nuts, but I can tell you that the green packaged ones on the top are open ended, and the yellow ones are closed ended. There all have a smaller circumference compared to the stock ones.
i wouldnt buy those unless u want stripped lugs....and i think dished and tapered means the way the ends of the lugs are.....i think tapered are like this \ / and dished like a U shape....dont quote me
In eight months, I have yet to have any problem with my Kyokugens. I torque them to ~75 lb/ft, like the instructions say to. I'm not saying people haven't problems with them, as they obviously have, but mine have been problem free so far.
the general rules are dont use air gun and only use a torque wrench to tighten our lovely automoble wheel fastener(aka lug nuts)
they are nice but i wouldnt get them.
i have regular tuner nuts on car, bling bling silver
believe it or not, the best way to fasten a fastener is to put a little bit of anti-serze on it, so the torque wrench getting the real torque number instead fractional torque, they WILL NOT fall off the car, i learn it in ASE cert. class.
with the anti-serze, you can take out your lug nut next time without getting stuck or strippe/break a stud.
air gun sometime over torque(break a stud) or under torque(causing a seperation of wheel from vehicle at high speed cornering or braking
)

The lugs are fine as long as you don't over torque them. Just use common sense, anything higher than 75 ft/lb is useless.
And I don't think the Kyokugen or Muteki are available in a bulge/conical seat. They all use a 60 degree tapered edge (flat seat).
