Redlines at 4.25

i have a 2000 honda accord. its supposed to redline at 6.25 but now sometimes when i drive it redlines at 4.25 when the vtec hits. any suggestions about what is wrong with it?

what do you mean it redlines at 4.25 when your redline is at 6.25? are you not getting power above 4.25k? be more specific plz

was the engine just started up or still cold?

vtec wont engage until the vehicles engine reaches operating temperatures.

it acts like its redlining at 4.25. could it be the vacume lines?? it like happens at random.

Check your oil level. When it gets too low it won't allow it to go over 4K. I had the same problem several months ago.
