Hello everyone,

I am about to purchase some used cams. However, I wanted you guys to help me verify these cams if possible.

Well the only markings that seem distinugishable are an embossed capital letter "D" on the intake cam....and an embossed capital letter "G" on the exhaust cam...between the lobes....

Can anyone name what these cams are??? Sorry i couldnt take a picture of the cams and i didn't want to purchase them without maybe someone being able to verify them.

So if you guys can name what cams these are it will be greatly appreciated

Well i was trying to refrain from disclosing the info, due to the fact maybe this information would lead to a biased answer.....

but they are suppose to be CTR cams..... and yes ive tried to distinguish the cam endings...but from pictures i still couldnt tell what the difference between ITR or CTR cams

 

The CTR has 2 rings at the end. The itr only has one. I can email you a pic of each that clearly shows the difference.

Thanks for the offer but I already have the pic, but when i took a look at the cams i was about to purchase i forgot what the difference was. So at this time i cannot go by the ring marking...

The only other noticeable markings were what i stated.....the letter "D" on the intake cam.....and the letter "G" on the exhaust...these are located between the lobes near an oil passage.

Does anyone have any CTR cams laying around they can check for these markings?? IT will be greatly appreciated.

Just looked at the CTR cams i have in my room for ya...

CTR intake cam has a "E" on it inbetween the set of lobes
ITR exhaust cam has a "B" on it

Thanks for checking it out for me...HMMMM now there is a great possibility these are not CTR cams.....

NOW WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THEY?? They are not GSR cams...i just adjusted the vavles on my gsr and the letters are different....

SO does anyone know what these cams are??? intake cam letter "D"....exhaust cam letter "G"?????

 

hey man, the alphabet stamps are batch numbers. doesn't mean anything. if they are CTR's look for the ring marks, or better yet, measure them. it's the only way to be sure. if it's too good to be true (like cheap), it usually is. people usually sell a pair of ctr cams for $450 used. btw if it has zero ring marks/grooves at the distributor end, it is probably the original b16a cams.

i thought you're in sfbay. i have a set of CTR in *excellent* condition.
