Is it worth getting a ext warranty on a 00 with about 9000 so far?
A dealer is selling a 00 with only 9k miles on it for $23k. The price is alright but not a steal. I'd pay 21 for it before TT. Whats it worth? Do you think a warranty is needed? A HondaCare warranty costs about $1200. I'm thinking if the powertop goes up and down everyday a few times per day, it will inevitably need replacing and the warranty might pay for itself. Any idears? Me too want to replace my gsr with a s2k.
be safe and get the warranty. you never know what can happen.
also, i think you should keep looking, 'cause that's not as good of a price as you can get.

I'm not too sure about the pricing, as I did get ripped on the price of mine....but I don't care, I still love the car.
Anywho, I'd highly suggest you get the warranty. The S2000 has everal service bulletins out for each model year of the car. Some things off the top of my head are:
Clutch pressure plate rattle
Soft top rattle
3rd gear synchros
etc....
Honda will replace/repair these all for free if you are under the warranty. I'd try to check up on each S2000 that you look at and make sure the required bulletins have been taken care of. Check out http://www.s2ki.com for more info on the list of SB's.
I, myself am getting Honda to replace the clutch for free since it is rattling. Just over 35K miles on my car and I'm getting a brand new clutch for free. Can't beat that!
