gurlfriends ep3 lowering...suggestiong...
what up. my girl just got a new si... she wants to lower it....she wants it low...she thinks its cool to be able to adjust the height... but i think she wants a good ride still...and I wouldnt mind spending 200 bucks...but donno about anything like 1000 dallaz. im kinda low on doh ... so maybe some....cheaper ones...?? or just get racining lowering springs...

its up to you. you could get gc or skunk2 coilovers for around 300. and you can put them on stock shocks until you need to replace them eventually. just keep in mind. whenever you adjust height of the car. you will need realignment
if you go too low ride will be like ****. your struts doesnt have enough travel in them
so you cant go too low. plus if you get after market springs the ride will be stiffer so
you cant really get a "good ride" IMO you need to tell your girl not to become a ricer
and get things done correctly. correctly as in get a coilover kit.

tell your girl if she's going to drop her car hella low, she better learn to drive it if not shes going to be like most girls i know with dropped cars scratching, hitting, and scraping every corner and bump.
yeah ive been showin her the little things. goin slow around dips and what not... yeah i donno might just get some used or really cheap coilover kit... dont wanna be loaning for her coiolvers im still payin off my car... ha
thanks
thanks
A few of us have gone with H&R Race springs with stock shocks, not a prob. just know that the stock shocks will have a much shorter life so prepare to buy new shocks. Got my springs from http://www.showstoppersusa.com/ got it with the camber kit to, springs drop you 2" all around so camber adjustment is needed.

There's no point dropping your car really really low. Then you've got to be more careful that you don't bottom out and hit your oil pan. I would just get some Sport or Racing springs and a camber kit - that is, until u need new dampers...

Ground Control coilovers with custom spring rates and Koni yellow struts. This setup should last for as long as you own the car. Ride height is fully adjustable, you can specify what spring rates you want (you can optimize the springs for either handling or comfortable ride, whichever you want), and Koni yellows are an excellent single-adjustable strut with a lifetime warranty. Do not reuse stock struts. If you need help choosing what spring rates are right for you just give GC a call and ask them what they would recommend for your needs. Also if you are unhappy with the spring rates you get, you can just order new Eibach ERS springs from Ground Control with different rates (I believe they come in 25 lb/in increments) and swap them in place of your old springs.
Do it right the first time or don't bother doing it at all.

wowa i am confused...only person i know of in GA running 225's on 15' oz's on a black ep is chunky??????you switch you handle, or are you using someone elses car...would be crazy for two people to have that SAME setup that close to eachother
Peking ... I love your rims
Great choice. I really wanted the 15" superleggeras, but went with the Konig Heliums in bronze due to budget ... nothing wrong with lightweight 15" rims on the EP ... looks great.
Oh - I went with 205/55R15 EVS100s ... I think for my next set I'll try 225s ...
Cheers,
Graham

actually, those are pics of my car. If you look in the thread that peking linked (the 2nd thread) you'll see where he linked the pictures from (my spring install thread on ephatch.com)
see my sig for a pic of my car when clean. =P
And wassup jon, linking my pics w/o giving credit - it's a good thing I know you f00.
oh, and I'll add that the H&R springs work quite well with stock shocks. stiffer, but not too stiff. Stock shocks have 57,000 miles on them with 10,000 miles on the H&R springs.
I do want new dampers, but the Koni setup is unacceptable to me. So i'll wait for a better solution or until my stock shocks give out and force me to buy some coilovers.

Halfass Suspension = Halfass Ride
another way of saying that is
Shitty Suspension = Shitty ride
Do it right the first time, your buying suspension for a new car, if you were buying suspension for an old beat up civic then i would say who cares but why buy an expensive car and then put cheap junky suspenesion in it? oh well The only advice i can give is DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!! youll be very happy you took that advice trust me!

I agree. i.e. do NOT get neuspeed race springs, they will be bouncy & wear your shocks out in less than a year garanteed.
get some springs that are designed to work with the stock shocks, h&r sport springs, eibach pro-kit & sportline, progress. and get a camber kit for anything that is over 1.5" drop. You can get away with a 2.0" drop w/o a camber kit, but it's worth the money to keep the camber in spec.

ive got tein s. tech springs on mine, been on for about 7k miles, its a great ride, nice ride height, and nice weight distribution too IMO. got them from showstoppers, great place to deal with and i got them for 139 shipped, not sure what they are now, but im sure theyre still inexpensive. ill try to post some pics sometime today.
