Gentle low rpm engagement (ie. no side stepping clutch drops).

Best broken in with city driving. Driivng long distances with the clutch fully engaged (cruising at constant rpm) doesn't break in the clutch as much as city driving (lots of gear changes).

City driving = 500-1000 miles depending on the clutch (more for Kevlar than organic)

like he said...

Go easy for the first 250 miles very easy, then after 500 miles a tad more, then after 1000 go for it

why is it necessary to break in a clutch? what would happen if you just started driving it normally right after install?

You could seat it properly and it will be fine. Some people actually do this, install the clutch and do a 8k drop and sometimes the clutch will seat right then. BUT this can also glaze your clutch, which will cause it to never seat properly, which is no good.

I drove the car normally for the first 350-400 miles. When I say "normally" I mean I drove it as a normal person would drive a normal car I have about 600 miles on it now and I'm driving it ITR normal, no hard launches yet though.

According to Yack an organic clutch doesn't need much of a break-in you just need to be careful not to slip the clutch when it's new.
