Default TL problems not the new ones

hey sorry i dont know if this a repost or not but the older TLs [sorry dont know the years] seen have too much power for the trans to handle. so the 3rd clutch pacl [i think] usually go out. to remedy acura gives you a new trans and computer that detunes your power alittle. just some tid bit of info id like to share w/ you that i learned at the acura dealership i work at.

i heard the recall was for 1999-2000 TL's. they also had another recall that the transmission could be shifted out of park with no brake.

at least honda doesn't try to hide its recalls and takes care of problems right away. i would like to see another major car company do the same.

Well, actually they do try and hide, don't kid yourself. This tranny problem has been there for years, they were forced to deal with it by the staggering amount of warrranty claims. You are a bloody fool if you think any major corporation gives a rats-*** about their customers over profits. There is no such thing as a "good corporate citizen."
Hey, just my 2 cents.
BTW, I love H/A vehicles too, but not that naively.

oh, i'm not niave. i was comparing to the Big 3 and even mitsubishi or nissan. compared to those, honda has done a very good job. and our TL, a 2000, was recalled for the transmission problem in late 2000. it was taken care of promptly. honda cares more than many other automotive companies. and there are such things as "good corporate citizens". they are usually smaller corporations. it is hard to make it in the business world if you aren't a little ruthless. i think some people idealize "good" a little too much.
i buy honda because of their reliability, ingenuity, and economy. otherwise, i choose daimler products.
