Default AEM CAI question

what can i put around the opening for the filter so that the frame and intake do not scrape.

Stan-Pro. It seals it off quite nicely. A local auto-parts store should have some of this trim, it is used mainly for door trim.

Any type of rubber hose. Slit it lengthwise and put it over the opening, works great and it's dirt cheap.

Another good idea. Keep in mind the jagged metal will most likely cut the rubber hose sooner or later depending on your clearance issues. This is why stan-pro was invtented

yeah, i could probably find some hose for it, thanks. does that Stan-Pro come in different quantities becuase i wouldn't need a lot.

Gudeh23a ,i have a shifting problem also, wont shift into reverse. any ideas?

I just used some ABS plastic. Cut two squares, and then dremeled them to the shape of the intake tube into the one edge. Placed it around the intake tubing, screwed it in, and viola. Holds the intake tubing in place, helps seal the filter are from the engine bay, and keeps metal to metal contact at nill.

Try changing the fluid- It sounds crazy, but change it with GM Synchromesh (from any GM dealer parts counter) and it may clear it up. Mine did after about 500 Miles.
