have a 4th gen with a jdm h22 swap, with a 92 accord tranny. the tranny mount had to be air chiseled out and moved forward, but the engine stayed in the same spot as it was, so the alignment should be ok. the distrib cap and rotor, and ignition cables were not changed, but the plugs were changed to NGK brand. i do not know the wear and tear on the tranny, the driveshafts are brand new (at least rebuilt and guaranteed by autozone). the car sat for 8 months without moving.

now, after the swap the car ran almost perfect, with a minor lag in acceleration on the bottom end. im attributing this to the fact i still havent changed the wires, dist cap and rotor (which has a hole that was jb welded shut on the side!). now that ive put over 1k miles on the engine, it has started shaking pretty bad on 1st through 3rd gear. once vtec kicks in on any gear, the car stops vibrating and hauls ***. due to money concerns, i cant get all the old stuff replaced right now. but i want to check all my options to make sure there isnt maybe a much bigger problem. do you think having old components that ive described will cause this shaking, or could it be something else?

 

Is your balancer shaft belt installed?

 

im not a mechanic, and i have no idea what that is. the swap was done by racingworks.com, theyve been around a while and have done a lot of swaps so i can only assume that part was correctly installed. i will ask them next time i talk to them.
