Mounting rear 4pt harness in a CRX
What is considered a safe place to mount the rear harness points?
I have the Sparco clubman 4pt with bolt in, but I also bought a pair of those
humungor eyebolts, and hooks, base plate, huge washers to mount...if needed.
Thanks

Most folks here will tell you that you shouldn't run a 4 or 5-point system until you get a rollbar. Otherwise, in a rollover, the harness will insure that your head is the first thing the collapsing roof hits.
In any case, the shoulder harness mounting points should be level with or just slightly (15 deg?)below the level of where they go over your shoulders, and as close to the seat as possible. Not really any good places to do that in a rex without a rollbar with harness bar included.
DO NOT mount them on the floor behind the seat. In a collision, tension on the shoulder belts will cause them to pull your shoulders down, compressing your spine. This is not good.

understood about the roll bar, and not mounting them on the floor directly behind the seats (spine compression)
I have seen harnesses wrapped around Beefy rear strut tower bars.
Any other place to mount they eye bolts is right above the gas tank. So I was looking for some insite.

ive seen them bolted to the strut mounts. a bit offset, but as long as the belts are long enough, itll fit fine. the big problem i see with that is that its a bit long of a distance, and because belts are made to stretch, perhaps it allows too much stretch during impact...
