what kind of budget are you working with? that matters a lot and you'll recieve more input if we know that.
i myself am working on a homemade setup. yes! defenitly check out http://www.homemadeturbo.com
i'm looking at a grand total of about 700 bucks. that's a big difference from the aftermarket kits out there.
so far i have:
-fmic (from a mazda 626)
-crx hf exhaust manifold
-boost gauge
-air/fuel gauge
-adapter plate
what i need:
-2g dsm t25 turbo
-bov
-stainless oil lines
-blah blah blah etc
i'm going to be using ghettodyne as a system of management. http://www.ghettodyne.com
good luck and keep us informed. this is going to be my first turbo project, it should be fun...and the best part is that i'll still have college money when i'm done!

almost all turbo kits are the same as far as the components. The size of each component depends on the size and style of motor. For a B17a, buy a manifold (no home made solution), a good sized T3, fmic, charge pipes, and some fuel management.
