This morning on my way to work, just as I sat in my car, I noticed my S2000 soft top was slashed. Someone decided that since my car is a convertable already, they wanted to add a moonroof. They slashed my roof to steal everything in my glove box, which consisted of my favorite pair of Oakleys in the bag, my school parking pass, my beanie, and my Escort Passport 8500 radar detector. All of this happened right outside my house, and i didn't hear a thing... I just wanted to share this with other S2000 owners, no matter how nice your neighborhood is, I would suggest parking your car inside. The worst part is that is the only time I have ever parked my car outside, and I have been doing it for less than a week.

Has anyone else had this experience? This happened in San Diego, and was wondering if anyone had this happen, where can I get my top replaced, and will they consider replacing it with a glass rear window...

Mine got keyed about a week ago right in my neighborhood. I camr home late and the only spot open belonged to a neighbor. I came out early to move the car for him, and saw that his car was on the firelane, and mine was keyed. I wonder who did it.

It doesn't matter if they did or not. It's easily doable to put a glass in. I've read a lot about it as we are doing it to our 01 probably.

damn, i'm sorry to hear that. i'm scared that's going to happen to mine. i park my car in the garage, but still i don't want it to happen when i'm out somewhere, or staying at a friends house, i bet it would be expensive to replace. You could always opt for the Mugen Carbon Fiber hard top

 

Insurance will only cover the OEM soft top, and I bought this car because it was a convertable...to put a hardtop on it would be sacreligious in my eyes....


I guess I cannot get the 02 top installed on my 01 S2000, so I will just get a plastic window again..oh well..I just want it over with....

I finally got my car back on Sunday, and it is still not perfect, the upholstery shop that installed the top left out a bolt and washer and nut, and when I make a left or right turn, you can hear them clanging back and forth.. ..Ahh..all the trouble these thieves have had me go thru... So i have to take it back to get it done right....

Worse part is my insurance company cashed my deductable check early, and I was gonna use that money to buy some rims from a fellow H-T'er... now I have to scrounge up some money and see if I can pay the guy....
