This will be a car you can buy direct from dealerships or Mugen. The car basically is fully loaded with aerokit, tweaked ECU, intake, exhaust, header and so on.
The Mugen upgrade can all be had for 1million yen on top of the cars reg price tag. 1 million yen is around 10 grand..extra. Mugen said they will maybe do partial upgrades later on next yr.

So for around $36 grand you can have one in Japan as well. Though it maybe closer to 40 grand with taxes and registering fees there. I'm sure if you bought all the parts separate it probably almost cost double as it would when you bought your car in japan. I figure the car is making around 225-230hp now with the mods.
But since this was the first surprise showing from Mugen of the car beside racing verisons of the car. The car will probably show up in Japanese car test mags within a month or two. The surprise showing is probably due to news that Spoon is about too show there verison next month but if that will be private or public showing that is yet to be known.

Also let you guys know the aero bonnet is partial carbonfibre and fibreglass and can be lifted with only two finger's with ease.

I'm not sure why that matters to anybody anymore..since many euro cars for one run this setup albeit they are FR instead of FF.

But then again, wasn't it the BEAMs R which took top honors in its inaugural races? That Honda engineers designed the DC5 to be at least 1 second faster on a circuit than the DC2-R?

I had the same worries before, but I'm glad that Honda was able to prove the naysayers wrong....

This is good i think...cause i remember reading that story (on the net somewhere) abotu automotive news, and they were talking about how mugen was the inhouse tuner for Honda, but they kinda boke off....But honda is starting to get back into the aftermarket game by offering the civic with suspension and aem and what not....but this is a step farther...getting Mugen to make it again...STi, TRD watch your back.

 

Let you guys know Subaru has new SC 6 banger truck coming out next yr. Plus the Forester is going turbo for 240bhp for 03' MY and also coming in as a 04' MY car but wont appear until early 03' the 280 STi WRX not meantion possible Prodrive model coming out in yr and half but all the above as been confirmed from a friend at SOA in NJ. He said the dates may change slightly but thats way they sit as off now but there all coming. Except for maybe for Prodrive which depends on how they really do in the SCCA FIA sancation events this yr.

There is also my friend layed in the hint the legacy model twin turbo called the blitzen in Porsche designed body in other countries has a chance coming here. With top speed of around 178mph! Basically a 4 door that could take on Bimmers and such

 

Okay...I just noticed that it has a frigging roll bar!!!!!! Plus all of the other mods, that is easily worth the $10k...

Yep it has a roll cage. It's very similar to the roll cage they already offer for the S2K and Civic. Mugen also offers fuel cells made out or reforced kevlar and carbonfibre. The really big thing for the new ITR is the tweaked ecu which has a selectable 10 maps *not a single mapping like before* in it becuase of the new twist cams the new engine brings with it. That is according to Mugen at the auto show.

 

lol, the thing that holds the hood up is the same as the accord, so now you can't make it stand stright up in the air

 

Its looks OK. I still think that a real nicely modified Mugen 00' ITR looks better. I dont care if it is Mugen, or improved aerodynamics a little bit. That wing and bumper look too ugly for me.

I just hope they bring the RSX Type R. Then I'll look at mods! I hope Honda is looking at the demand in the USA. They are nuts if they don't bring the R back to the USA. I'll be so pissed if I have to by something else

hah, you are telling me that you would think that wing looks good if it wasent mugen? give me a break. That wing is ugly as sin, and anyone who likes it, just likes it because its mugen.

 

Is it me or does this Integra look like a Toyota Paseo from behind. And yes, I don't like the car. Just another reason why I bought my car when I did.
