Default HYBRID QUESTIONS~!

in california, (anaheim) theres a place called holeshot racing.. they do great work on cars.. (hondas and acuras).. im actually thinking of getting a gen 6 civic coupe or HB and putting a b16 in there.. or a ls/v-tech.. soo.. for you people who have done swap.. how much should i pay for the engine and the swap (installation)? what is a good price and what would be a rip off? and how fast should i be running in the quarter mile on street tires?
thanking you in advance...

dont do the b16....personally i think its a crappy motor. i usually see them gettin dogged by a lot of cars, and i can beat them in first with my gti.
i dunno about other people [si owners], and please dont bash me if u guys like the b16, but i wud suggest b18 or better.

im considering the same kinda of swap u are doing...in may i wanna get a 96+ civic hb and put in a gsr or ls/vtec....which ever is easier to get and cheaper.

i thinka b18 swap shud cost around 4-5 grand installed.

keep me updated on how ur swap goes, so i kno what i shud and shudn't do also.

im here to defend th b16!!!!!!!....and im not going to bash anybody so dont bash me!!! i just wanna help!! as far as the b18 being better...thats yes and no!! let me explain!!....i dont know who told the other guy a b18 is easier to find...uhhh...NO...wrong jap spec b16s r a dime a dozen.....as b18s are.(BUT COST A LOT LESS FOR A LITTLE BIT OF DIFFERINCE)...b16s are not crappy motors ...not as much hp as a gsr but its a very good motor, much better than the high 16 sec single cam motor!!! as far as hp 160-170 is a difference that is hardly noticable in a honda motor but,,torqe i where the b18 shines....but in a (FRONT WHEEL DRIVE HONDA) a lot of torque is not always great...as far as traction is concerned..but once u hook up it feels nice....i like b16s better because the jap specs are a dime a dozen, and if u blow a motor its cheaper to replace...(K.WATANABE) in cali. u can get a b16 longblock deliverd to u for 600.00 dollars..no lie if u dont believe me call them @ 1-800-592-8262...and if u want to know how to convert the japspec motor to fit your car email me...unless u already know.......if anybody has any questions they can email me...

we are talkin about usdm, not jdm....
the jdm del sol b16 is dope, i have a friend who had it in his crx...**** flewww, and the **** he did to it, he was running 240hp.
but the b16's in the us civic si's, i think arent as great. honda shud have put in a little more love and made the limited si's something more worth the money.

for the price go for the b18c1 or c5,imo the b16 is a good engine but mod for mod the higher torque b18c1/c5 will outrun the b16. you can save ALOT OF money if you do the install yourself.its not hard.
