Default pretty ****** gay but...i need help

So when I got my car back from the shop 3 weeks ago, they put on my volks for me. The other day I wanted to put the stock tires on so I could do some burnouts.
The problem is...these ******* aren't coming off...I tried pretty much everything except an impact wrench(which I don't have...yet). Do I have to take off the center cap first or something?
again....I am ashamed

So I understand you are trying to remove the lug nuts now?

And did you torque them before you did "burn outs"?

take your lug wrench, while the car is on the ground, and pull like a **** (counter clockwise)to "break" the lugs, aka loosen them, do NOT remove them, just kind of crack em.

then jack up the car, put it on stands, remove the lug nuts, and put your stockies on along w/ lugs. take it off stands, and torque the lugs. you should have a torque wrench but in case you don't, pull hard (clockwise). you should be good to go.

my question is, how are you gonna do burnouts with your ss ?

I think he knows how to take off a wheel on a prelude...

seems like your shop torqued the wheel lugs to much and they are stuck on...either i would get you and a friend or somehow get more leverage on your wrench to break the bolts off, i wouldn't recomend using a chemical loosener like wd-40 types of things to loosen the bolts because it might ruin the finish of your volks...

Or why not just go to the shop? they shouldn't charge you for something little like that if it was their mistake.

a very ghetto way would be to hook some wrenches together for more leverage. i usually just stand on the wrench, but hey, do what ever works.

Don't even mess with it. You can damage the lugs and/or the studs and/or the wheels themselves.

Take it right back to the shop. Have them break each lug loose with the impact. Then put the lugs back on yourself by hand with a manual wrench. I hope they did not damage the wheels themsleves...

Agreed don't touch then as you'll probably break them impact gun is the only way to get them off safely.

I never let a shop torque my wheels with the gun I give them my torque wrench or I do it myself.

Is it that necessary to torque down the lugs w/ a torque wrench???

I always just tightened them down as hard as I could in a criss-cross pattern...?!

It's actually not hard to sheer a lug off. *DO NOT TOUCH IT YOURSELF* I'd also take it back. They tightened it wayyyy too damn much, and any of the lugs could be weaker now. I sheered one on my old car taking it off. Had a 3 foot braker bar... pulled that bitch like a **** until I felt it ease up. I was thinking sweet, I got it off! when all of a suddent the whole braker-bar fell to the ground. Lug sheered off

just take it back by the shop and tell them to loosen the lugs and let you retighten them with a torque wrench

when i use my impact wrench, i use the lowest torque setting. no problems. ARP wheel studs help though.

you really should torque the lugs down to specs, if you tighten them unequally you risk warping your brake rotors. When the rotors heat up, they will twist in the direction of the tighter lugs, causing that dreaded vibration when you are on the brakes

actually if they are on there that hard, then some of your studs may still be stripped even if properly uninstalled with a impact gun. Big 10 tires(losers) stripped seven of my studs and when I went to ntb, they took them off with impact wrench and they were stripped, went back to big 10 raising hell and this guy said they werent responsible because I took it somewhere else. The reason I took it somewhere else is because they rashed on of my wheels. The majority of tire places around here are full of drunk rednecks, who dont give a **** about anything. Id rather do it myself, except for getting the tires mounted. How much do one of those machines cost that mount tires?

well there are too types of machines, one is not too expensive, but makes a real mess out of nice alloy wheels, the other type, commonly refered to as a "stand up machine" does not touch the rim but they are much more expensive

Definitely torque down to spec if you do any drag/autox/road racing.

I suggest putting on a small bit of anti-seize before retorquing lugnuts.
