JimFab bushings creaking-squeaking?
Just wondering if any of you with JimFab (crossmember/radius) bars have experienced any creaking noises?
I've had my JF bar on my 90 CRX for a few months, but I rarely drive it.
All of a sudden, I'm getting a loud creaking sound (JimFab bushings?) whenever I pull to a stop or accelerate from a stop. (Motor mounts, and other suspension parts seem tight)
I'm going to try spraying lubricant on my JF bushings and drive it around again. If this solves it, I'll post an update. But I just wanted to see if anyone else had this.
(Yes, I've already searched)
Thx

Q: Is it COMMON for new bushings to do this??
(I don't have a lot of experience with new suspension parts, etc) thx

if the bushings are urethane, it is common for them to squeak. If you can get to them, you could put some kind of grease on them. A nice coating of grease on them should do the job.
Jimfab x-members dont have any bushings. They have (sp?) heim joints.
As far as the noise being normal.... I dont know, but my jimfab x-member makes the same noise you describe. I get something that sounds like a few clicks when I brake hard, right when I come to a stop. Rarely does it make a sound when I take off.

Update - problem solved.
It was just USER ERROR, sigh
When my buddy helped me install it, he was the one who used his power tools to tighten the rear bolts on the JF bar. I'm guessing (a) he either didn't tighten them to spec (too loose) or (b) they worked themselves loose and could benefit from some locking washers or something.
Anyways, last night I finally found time to work on the CR-X. I merely tightened the rear bolts and now the creaking is eliminated completely.
Cliff Notes version: User stupidly forgets to examine tightness of rear bolts. Once tightened, problem resolved.

sooo your talkin about the bolts that held the radius arms of the bars to the LCA were too loose?? Hmm....... im gonna have to check mine as well, since i was only using hand tools and no lift i might not have had good position to get them tight.
Mine do make a click noise when turning sharp but thats just because the joints are moving. I spray them down with wd40 every so often to keep them clean and lubed.
Lately ive noticed a creaking noise when releasing the clutch and a lil clunk noise when shifting in gears. I still think it may be a bad motor mount. im gonna have to thread this question..........
