when I go backward... click!

I haven't heard it in the R yet but my mom's 98 Accord does it and my 93 Accord does it constantly... I think it's the CV joint on the right side on my accord... I took off the wheel and nothing seems to be loose or worn and the boots are fine... Took it to Honda and they said it's normal.. but they always say that.
I have the problem too, when ever I am stopping or going. I am due for my free oil change, so I will get that checked as well. Will let you guys know the reason.
EXACTLY!!!! I've noticed this clicking sound for a while now, that will now do it everyday quite often. It's coming from the passenger side front and it's not a rock in the tire. Nothing in the driveline feels different though, just a normal clicking sound to me now.....WTF??
People have complained about a feeling in the clutch pedal, this is not the case....
Thanks,

hmmmm. mine does the same thing, but only when my foot is slightly on the throttle.....
and the noise is gone as soon as I let go the throttle...
I checked everything from CV boot, calipers and etc, as well as loose screws and hood pins...no luck..
so what's makes noise when foot is on the throttle ? other than normal engine noise...
I have not done any compression or leak down, long shot, but wanna try it nayway..

Well if you want to rule out the brake pads try this... Put the emergency Brake on and then put the car in first and give it a little gas... then reverse.. I can get my accord to do it everytime without fail... I'm guessing it's not the brakes given they are not on (in the front) When I'm driving down the road and the CV joints fall apart I'll let ya know.
The Accord's got 186,000 miles on it and they are original. But has done it since I can remember. If anyone does find out what it is give a yell!

it could happen if you have aftermarket springs on. My friend on his Si had a problem of whenever he went forward/back and hit bumps..it would clicked. Im not sure of how you can eliminate the problem other than swapping springs..which is what he did.
Well, I've looked at this with ***** (just real quick while we were at lunch and withOUT taking the tire off) and it is not anything in the tread. The car is also all stock with maybe 20K on it. Only thing I could think of, or at least wanted to check, was both the CV AND the Caliper.
The brake pads themselves would not make this kind of noise. The only thing we were worried about was if, by chance, one of the two Caliper mounting bolts may be a bit loose and the whole assembly is being SLAMMED in either direction when the brakes are first being applied in that direction. He drives the thing hard, so...
This is common on these cars? Anyone find the solution yet?

I had that problem with my ITR and a simple brake service got rid of the sounds...
I spoke to a trusted service advisor and he told me that it is caused by uneven brake ware.....
