Anybody ever strip the paint off of Rotas?
I'm wondering if it's clean metal like the HX wheels in this thread. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=639822
Or is it just ugly? I'm curious.

Damn the wetsanding! I polished my valve cover and it took hours and I was soaking wet afterward. Eh, one last question. Should I clearcoat them after polishing? I know aluminum will start looking crappy if left unprotected, so...

They do make a polished SS. I have gunmetal C8s, though. I didn't want to strip the paint and find nasty metal under there. I'll post pics if/when I do it. Thanks for the tips everybody, feel free to let me know if I've missed anything.

-strip paint
-scrub off paint that didn't come off with the stipper
-remove your shoes so you don't soak them while sanding
-wetsand with high grit sandpaper
-wetsand with higher grit sandpaper
-notice how sore your fingers have gotten over the past couple hours
-wetsand with even higher grit sandpaper
-notice you missed a spot earlier
-fix the spot you missed
-check over everything
-dry off whatever you are polishing
-get an aluminum polish of your choice, I used Nev R Dull or something
-polish
-notice all the nasty black stuff that appears
-polish that off
-polish some more
-notice all the hand prints you left on the object you just polished
-polish those off
-stand back and enjoy your work
-admire the free manicure you gave yourself
-notice how smooth your finger tips are, this is because you have effectively removed your fingerprints

well when I got my car it came with slipstreams so I took off the rims, just sanded some block off and quickly painted 2 coats of white. LOOKS LIKE ****! after 3 months, so I dunno If I have to sand em down again and maybe Ill jsut paint em gunmetal this time. Maybe polish the lip?
How would I polish the lip on a shitty finish rim? and make it look new

I know there have been stories about rotas breaking, but that was a design flaw and has since been fixed.
