Hey guys,

I need some help before I start drilling holes in my car... I have a JDM 4Dr spoiler to put on my 4Dr. If you look at the first pic you can see two indentions along the edge of the trunk lid. I'm guessing these are where the GSR wing would mount to. I'm curious if the Type-R wing will use the same holes. I know that for the 2Drs the GSR and Type-R mount a little differently. This is a real 4Dr wing, not a Comptech copy. It would seem obvious that Honda would mount both wings using the same holes, but I know what's obvious isn't always the case.

Also, in the third pic you can see the two bolts for mounting the wing. Should there be another bolt up near the other edge?

Anybody done one of these? Or know enough about the elusive DB8 Type-R to offer some help?





BTW, I searched before I posted, and I'm not a ricer so there's no need to comment if that's all you have to add.

If you can give me some type of measurements, I can check vs. where my mounting pts are@.

Mind you my car is a USDM ITR...

Cant you just lay it overtop to see if they mount-up, and if the wing looks correct?

 

JDM sedan wing is wider. It will mount on those stock 2 holes. I would measure it just in case you got the hatch spoiler.

 

I'll do that. Although, this one has about half an inch of trunk lid on each side of it. I don't think it could be much wider.

I've eyballed and guestimated, but I can't snug the bolts up to the indentions on the underside because of the shape of the underside. I know it's close, but I can't eyball it much more accurate than half an inch or so.

 

It is in fact wider by a bit. I own a DB8 so I can verify this to be correct.
