I have an 89 hatch with a B series swap. I've never had this issue. I replaced the clutch. I put AFT fluid with Dextron in it. It shifts like butter no matter what. I have a tad bit grinding in 3rd but I'm gonna rebuild it and replace the gearing so I can get a tad bit better topend. I'm gonna go with a nice set of synchro's as well. If it's hard to get into and out of gear. Trying switching to the AFT fluid or the GM synchro mesh or if you have a plan jane trani try mobil 1 motor oil full Synthic. I used that in 1.6 sohc D series motor and It work like a champ. Hope this helps.

no do not use mobile one full synthetic in your tranny. It is bad for the syncros. If you are going to use oil use regular 10-30 non synthetic or some Honda MTF I have also heard good things about redline too. I am planning on changeing my tranny fluid this week I have a Y1 w/LSD and I am going to use GM Syncromesh modified in it.

Yes, and I have had 3 EF's and an EG and it did it on all of them.

Car just needs to warm up!
