You're correct. BUT, it's coming from Japan. Which means you'll have to pay $$$ in shipping and possible tariff.

Well $725 for exhaust manifold was the price once you could buy it for in Japan. But with the riseing Yen rate probably around $750-760 now. They have to be selling out of Japan because there just selling at retial. Which normally also means you pay the current yen rate. Your going to pay around 50 bucks for the shipping here unless it's shipped on a boat and also custom charges which can be from 25-50 bucks at times. Also if you may have to pay for brokerage fee depending on if you have the shipping company do it for you or you fill out all the custom papers and such. I recently priced a retail exhaust manifold from Japan and the price was around 890-910 to my door. But like I said that with the current exchange rate being higher this week. So you may save 20 bucks or so depending on how it's shipped or you may just breakeven or maybe lose in some cases. Because unless they let you buy with CC then you will have to poket atleast 8 bucks in international MO from the post office which they like because no banks are involved. Or wire transfer which is normally 50 bucks for the wire and then they usually add abit into the overall price I believe around 3% mark up of the actuall yen rate. I sent recently 181,700 yen which is currently 1,530.00 usd but when I wired the money it trans lated into 1,571.71 usd. Only when you wire money of over 1.1 million yen to Japan aprox 10 grand usd do you beat the mark up and get a good exchange rate. Main reason you get better rate because the money traders at that time get involved mostly because your moving nice amount overseas. Sorry if I rattled about too much just trying to give you guys some in sight on shipping and exchange rates ins and outs.

Yup, listen to David...

Also, the best way to obtain parts for cheap is to go to Japan yourself and pick up the parts. The only problem with that is this doesn't happen everyday and also you get hit w/ $$$ limit on products you bring to the States.

Trust me I've done imported items from Europe and from Japan and back again. So I know alot of the little tricks here and there. Like items from Japan tend to be looked at more so then certain packages from Europe. Which means your likely to be charge more for asia country packages then European ones.
I keep learning as well from continued shipping items and such. I will have more knowledge on shipping cars as well once I start doing that maybe next yr. Looking at the new GTR35 as there bringing the none turboed model here to the US. Which means for the most part most dealerships should be able to service them. But I do like the older GTR34 vpecII the best thus far. That or JDM ITR old body style. Would look into an Sti WRX but autoweek confirms it will be on sale in 03' as 04' MY car. It was also confirmed by Subaru recently on there website I believe or rally website.
