AEM CAI to SHORT RAM conversion

Default AEM CAI to SHORT RAM conversion

ok, so i have teh AEM CAI on my 6th gen EX coupe. . . . .well i want to make it into a short ram in teh winter, then in the sumer hold the peices together w/ the bypass vale to make it a CAI agin in teh spring. . . . .will this work?? has anybody tried it? pics would be great

It will work, but you'll loose 10 hp and 15 ft/lbs of torque.

****..that's about what the bypass valve did for me. Feel free to turn it into a shortram though.

is it a one piece cold air or two piece

either way it will work

i always make mine short ram or cai dependng on the weather

yeah, you should make up for it by putting some huge APC stickers...

if i wanna make mine a short ram intake also, how can i hold it together besides the bypass valve

The same type of hose and clamps that you use to hold the intake to the throttle body.

Naw, nothing noticeable. A lot of the older systems were 2 piece. Personally, I would make sure the 2 pieces fit together flush, with the rubber hose and clamps there to secure them.

ok thnx u guys, so i guess i'll just chop it this winter and then just use the rubber and hose clamps to hold it togather in the summer. . . . .
