I think he meant a race in reverse at 4500rpm, which would come down to gear ratios. I bet the BMW would take it.

I don't think it matters what situation.. I think the m3 would win in any race straight uturn circles or just turns.. as for looks a lot of people say stock for stock m3 looks better.. and even after you put a cool body kit and rims and paint job and carbon fiber mirrors and what not haha.

um....well, it's really apples-oranges. more importantly, you can't just judge a car by how fast it is from stoplight to stoplight
if you are asking: which car would win in a comprehensive race between an m3 (e46) and present-model s2000 (a competition involving say...road course, braking, handling, striaght line, et cetera), the m3 would win hands down...
but again...apples to oranges...two diffrent cars built for two diffrent purposes....
btw....how does one become a non-trial user?
