Default tein HA rust..what to do?

searched and found threads of how to prevent rust in the thread of the coil overs, but not how to get rid of them. I noticed the threads were rusty, so what can I do?

Buy coilovers with stainless steel threads.

I bought the Cusco ones with that being one of the main reasons.

WD-40. Let it sit on there for a little bit, then come back and hit it with some more. Let the second coat sit for a bit, then hit it with some scrubbage. Make sure its not something that will put deep scratches all over the sleeves. I guess maybe try steel-wool and a piece of cloth to whipe off the extra crud.

Mine have a slight amount... I plan to make a very light cut on the threads with a single point thread tool.

If its as harsh as a wire brush, then I personally would not use it. I wouldn't want to scratch the sh*t out of the sleeve.

WD 40 and a pack of 3M scuff pads should do the job

well at my dad's shop, they have this one grease/thick oil that they spray inside your doors, under your car, etc... to prevent rust
What I done was put the car on the hoise, and re-sprayed my whole underside of the car, all suspsension componenets(struts and coilovers)

this will attrack more dirt to stick, but you can always wipe the dirt off and it will always protect them from rusting.

Edit: Heres a pic of my underneath, shitty pic but you can see the glossyness of the oil

add .orig.jpg to the end of the link above to make it HUMONGOUS

if you can remove the tein suspension, take table salt, and vinegar with a tooth brush. this will remove the rust.

If anything, you can always have a new thread put on by TEIN. THe HA's are totally rebuildable. There place is somewhere in SoCal.
