i have a 91 dx and i was wanting to do a rear drum to disc conversion and was wanting to know what all parts i would need and off of what cars do i need them from any help would be nice thanks
first you need to get the trailing arm, with the disc brakes, ebrake cable. thats all you need . you can get this off of 88-91 crx si (some), or i got mine off of a 90 integra, will work threw 93. good luck
the 90-91 crx si's are the only two years that came out with rear disc brakes - the 88-89 had drums even in the si's. i believe you can use any rear disc setup from any of the integra's even after 93. but that i could be wrong on.

Find a Teg. Don't bother with the CRX

keep your stock civic upper and lower control arms, and the civic compensator arm up front. in fact don't unbolt any of those from the chassis, especially the comp. arm otherwise you will need an alignment.
if your car is a crx then you will need to use 90-91 CRX Si ebrake cables. if your car is a civic, then you will need to use 90-93 integra ebrake cables.
i have 93 gs-r rear brakes, and ebrake cables on my 90 Std. they work great.

I have rear discs from an integra and I had to use the 90-93 parking brake cables and route them "creatively" because the stock ones wouldn't work.
But that may not be the case for everyone I just have bad luck.

90-93 integra ebrake cables bolt up to the same place the 88-91 civic cables bolt up to. you have to partially drop the gas tank to get to the bolts though. kinda sucks.
oh, and to answer the other guy's question. i believe crx si rear discs are smaller than integra rear discs.

Wrong. If the Teg brakes were the same size I would'nt have got them.
teg= 9" and I think crx is 7.5"
Oh yea.. I did this on my CRX not hatch. I DID NOT have to do anything with my gas tank during any of the procedure.

As for the rear brakes being different sizes I have Integra rears and I really don't think they are 9.0'', cuz my fronts are 9.5'' and I don't think my rears look any where as big. I do have a set of Integra rear discs upstairs I could measure to make sure though. Too bad I have no idea where a ruler or something is.

Well whoever said Integra rears were 9.0'' is right. I can't say what a CRX one is for sure though.
As for needing 15'' rims to do the Integra rear disc swap that makes no sense. If my front brakes are 9.5'' and came under a 13'' wheel stock than you can definitely fit the rear 9.0'' brake under a 13''. I'm positive they at least fit under a 14'' because my steelies are 14''s and they fit on fine. So I'm sure 13'' would work to.

ok, lets say I have ITR lca's can I just take my knuckle with drums off my 89 crx dx and replace it with the knuckle of a 90-93teg disc brakes while keeping my itr lca's? Si ebrake lines too?

Well I wanna do the rear disc conversion but i have 92 GS wheels on my 89 hatch...I can still use them right?

Yea, I was looking at my car right after I made to post, and thought the same thing. I would love to get a confirmation in this.
