Some bikes would require cutting into the fairings. However, according to Targa's catalog, a YZF600R would not need cutting.

Just dont drop it or crash! Hehe. Honestly though, they're meant to protect your frame and just happen to protect part of the fairing.

Yea.. im gonna try my hardest not to drop it again.. it hurts me to do that.. i just gotta practice on it.. its kind of hard to hold the bike due to my size.. im only 5'4 about 125lbs.. but ill get used to it... but for now, ill take any protection i can...

Just and fyi, if u drop ur bike at stop or slow speed, parts of ur bike including ur fairings will still be scratched. These protect your frame more than the fairing hence frame sliders

dude, you need to cover all your fairings in leopard print fur...that way when you go down on it, you just replace the fur...its real hot....... !!

One of my friends actually dropped my f4i turning around my neighborhood and all it did was made tiny scratches on the fairing. I just put protek frame sliders on 2weeks ago and you can tell that they stick out enough so that where it was scratched would not have been touched if i had the sliders before.

But anyways, they are mainly to protect your frame like others said but they do also protect your fairings somewhat. I got mine just in case i drop it at a faster speed practicing my wheelies...not for the fairings.
