||/ TOE \|| Setting/adjusting ?? (Yes I searched)
So, from my searches i gathered you can measure the wheels w/measuring tape, string etc, yada yada yada, but the prevailing advice was "Let the pros w/the equip. do it @ an alignment shop"
My question is ||HOW|| do u adjust it? Ex. "You can adjust the toe by (blah blah here)...all u have to do is_____."
The reason I ask is the last time I was in for an alignment, they said they would install camber kit, adjust that, align, etc...but claimed the toe on my car was NOT adjustable. I just wanna understand how it works so I can explain it if necessary, or (more likely) get someone else to do it.
Any sites u can direct me to or other info is greatly appreciated.
TIA
Later.

Funny, toe is the one thing on a stock 4G-Civic/2G-CRX that can be adjusted. Caster and camber can't be adjusted without some parts/modification. That's probably not a good alignment shop to deal with or at least the person you spoke to wasn't the most knowledgeable for your car.
"You can adjust the toe by..."
Turning the tie rods (the thing on the middle right edge of this pic) in/out for the front:

and loosening bolts on the compensator arms (part #15) in the rear:
Don't forget to tighten all that back up when you're done. The helms manual will show you how if you have it. A Chilton's might too, but they're

Find someone else to do it, they sound like they have no knowledge on your car - Places like tire kingdom always have deals goin on for like $39.99 for a 4 wheel alignment
At school we have 2 $70,000 Hunter alignment machines than we can align our cars on whenever we want. I don't know enough to **** with mine alone but I want to learn. I will probably get my alignment done this week. Tomorrow is wheel balancing day.
Thanx XrcR6!
The diagram helps alot! So an alignment shop basically sets the toe when they're 'aligning' it? Yes/no?
That would explain that then. So toe is the ONLY adjustable thing to be adjusted when aligning, or am I off base?
The info helps out alot. Again I really appreciate all your replies!

On a stock 88-91 Civic/CRX the only provision Honda made for adjustment is Toe, everything else is fixed. Unless you add a camber kit (for camber) or adjustable radius rods (for Caster) all I could see an alignment shop being able to adjust is Toe.
In the course of the alignment they would of course measure all the other parameters and tell you what they were. If camber is out of spec. (usually excessively negative from being too low), you can install a camber kit. Caster, if that is off, something is probably loose/bent/worn. And you'll need to figure out what that is and replace it. If someone offers to bend something back rather than replacing it, run away.
