what to do about light overspray?
i just got my car back from the body shop and i found out that there is a light layer of overspray on my car. they are in 3 certain areas. but very light. it feels as if its very dull. i dunno if you guys know what im talking about.
either way, can this overspray be taken off with a clay bar of some sort or anything? thanks.

you gonna be at the itr meet sat.? if so..miguel from MOBworks will be there..awesome body and paint guy..im sure he could answer allof those kinda questions..
It really depends of the severity of the over spray… if the over spray is quite heavy in certain areas, then what works nicely, is to have those areas high speed buff polished. Any reputable detail shop will do this for you; they will use a wax compound with contains abrasives in order to remove such things as over-spray.
If the over spray is light, you most probably can do it yourself. If you have an orbital buffer, use some pre-wax cleaner, then treat area just buffed with some good quality wax.

Any good quality clay bar and a mild soap and water solution (I use quick detailer) will take off overspray with ease....but if the body shop messed it up I would have them do it.
well i used mothers clay bar and took it off. they broke the cover on the inside of the door to the mirror. im gonna raise hell about that. thanks for the info guys.
Try to take it off or take it back. Don't use something that will take the clearcoat off or the paint like 3M. Good luck.
So did you have to have your car repainted recently? I think I may have the front bumper redone. But I want a clean looking job no overspray..also a door that someone had to scrap witht here door

i didnt have the whole car repainted, more like just the side panel. i think it was lack of competence on the part of the worker. the work turned out great, its just that they repainted my passenger side rear panel, and i ended up with over spray on my driver side mirror. i dunno how that worked. but im sure if they repaint your bumper its gonna be off the car, so you dont really need to worry.
i think the mothers clay bar is safe for clear coats, im gonna give my car a nice coat of wax before i head to the itr meet saturday. will that be okay? thanks,.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze will do the trick. No need to go back to the shop.
