Question about window trim , and How To ??
Well for those of you have old cars your trims should be faiding, I know mine is. So i was wondering what to do when my window trims start faiding.
-Pics of the left side of my car ( Faiding window trim )
-Pics of the right side of my car ( Not faiding window trim )
-I did a search and found one topic of window trim :
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=303754
Some members said to just buy new one's (but when i called up a dealership they asked way too much for it), and one member suggested : sand > primer > flatblack.
Any one got any other suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

Peanut Butter. Works Wonders.
NOTE: Sorry, this method is just for refreshening the black.

I'm serious too. Get some extra creamy peanut butter. Not chunky-not good. Spread the peanut butter all over the black peices and then wipe off. Wala.

Even if this does work, I can't see it as being a permanent fix. Anyone else have ideas. I would think that painting it would work, but you would probably want to get some thing to help the paint stick. I know they have it(the stuff that helps paint stick to odd surfaces) in a spray can, but I can't remember what it's called.

There's clips underneath the seals. I think about 5. Go to a junkyard, 5th gen hatches and coupes have the same window/door size. You might want to becareful with the retainer clips, they are easy to break. You'll have to lift the seal, and press in the clip, and it should pop out. When taking off your current ones off of your ride, BE CAREFUL that you dont scratch your paint with whatever tools you decide on using(I used a flathead and a rag to jam it in there to lift the seal...then used a small utensil to push in the clip). Easy as cake. Other than the paint scratching

Also so you guys know, Mother's makes something called Back to Black. It helps, but is more like a temporary fix like the peanut butter. So I guess the trick is to get the trim down to bare metal, and then paint over it with some trim paint. I think that'll be one of my things to do this winter when I'm bored. Thanks for all the info. Good thread.
There's a product I saw at AutoZone in the paint section, that was a spray by Duplicolor (i think
) that brings back the black color on your door mouldings. In fact there was a thread on this by the moderator of this board. Talk to him, he might help you.

Tom's thread about the moldings is not the window trims.
Also i was wondering if there was any kind of paint, that would be exactly like the mirror trim. Yall know how mirror trim paint is kinda thick and different than any other part of your car ?
yea i was wondering if they sell those kind of paints..
Any one else have any other suggestions than the one's we discussed so far ?
Things we have discussed so far
1. Tempoary stuff - back to black , peanut butter
2. Getting new / other one's from dealers or junkyard
3. Repainting them with primer and flat black.

So if you don't mind me asking, what was the total cost?
