Default quick crx echc h1 brake and rear sway bar q

I have a 89 crx si w/ a b18 in it. Just getting ideas as to weather or not my stock SIZED brakes will be good enough to haul me down from speeds. I'll be running the carbotech pads like everybody said to do but will my car be underbraked or good enough? I'm on a tight budget but if i have to, due to safety, i'll get slightly bigger brakes but if the stock sizes are good enough then i'll save myself some $$$.

Also, what are the majority of you crx/civic drivers using for the rear sway bar? I was told to run a 22-23mm rear bar. Should i get GC, Eibach, ST or Progress etc.. Any suggestions/opionions on these bars?

thanx guys, i'll see you all next season.

I don't see why you would have to upgrade the 89 brakes for safety. So long as you are running fresh rotors and a quality pad like the Carbotech (XP? you didn't say) and you keep your fuild fresh, you'll stop fine. If you're itching to mess with them, add some ducts. Those do help, and they won't break the bank.

I'll let the ECHC guys chime in on this, but I know that quite a few of the ITA guys are running the ST rear bar with good results. Ultimately depends on what the rest of your suspension setup looks like. Too many opinions on this one.

This is a baseless rule of thumb I heard once, so take it as such ...

For sedans road racing, stock brake systens are adequate up to ~165hp.

Again, I don't remeber when or where I heard this, but it seems to be true. I can certainly see the logic. The afformenioned brake ducting is a really great/cheap mod. Made a world of difference for me.

Well, normally I'd say no way those tiny-*** brakes are gonna stop an H1 car after 2 laps. But after seeing Evans do it *repeatedly* this year....
