89 Civic Si seats in 91-91 hatches
Someone mentioned that 89 Civic Si seats won't fit in the 90-91 hatches. Any truth to this rumor? Evidentally the mounting of the seatbelts or something like that.
I am wondering the same thing.. I have a 89.. I got the SI rear seats in with ease I am just having a big pain getting the front ones in.. Any help would be awesome..
si and dx bodies are different... i just stripped a 89 crxsi and the seats dont fit my 89hbdx or 88 crxdx.the doors are also different which i found out the hard way...a little hammering and theyll fit alright for the time being. oh yea and dont bother trying to switch the rails doesnt work. make adapter plates or sell em
It's a pain in the ***.
I did it to my 91 civic.
ALOT more comfortable, and looks nicer, but you need to goto Can Tire and grab some 1-2" wide peice of steal, pre drilled holes to have the seat line up with the rail
Also, they sit a little off...

the 89 civic has a narrow bolt pattern for mounting the seats. the 90-91 civics have a wider bolt pattern, so the 89 seat won't bolt in to the 90-91 civic.
the only way to get the 89 seat into the 90-91 civic is to swap the seat pan where the rails mount to the seat. or you could do a custom job, but i think swapping the seat pans would be easier (if you have a seat pan to use for the swap).
