Default Need ALARM ASAP, thieves watching my car!!

woke up this morning at 3:15 to take a leak only to see an older model cutlass parked parallel to mine on the side of the road with a flashlight from the passenger seat looking into my hatch. I grabbed the phone off the wall and called the cops. Gave me info and they said units have been dispatched. What would you do? Wait for the cops or flee them off?

I grabbed the metal poker from my fireplace and snuck out the back door and got pretty close to my front and started running, the black guy that looked like he was trying to pop my hatch fell and dropped pry tool and hopped into there car and sped off but I managed to throw my bar into there rear window and smashed it. I got a good description of the car and the black guy out of it. Cops came 2 min later and took his pry bar into look for prints.

I NEED AN ALARM! I just want something that will be loud and tells me if my doors, hatch, hood are trying to be oppenned and if my window has been hit or smashed. Anything else I wont need because I dont have power anything and people only steal audio equipment from around here. Im sleeping in my car for the next coupla nights.

I need an alarm that is sold on ebay that has those. Thanks
need help asap, they tried to take my baby!

Damn, crazy *** story man. Did you get the guys plate number?? I'd reccomend pulling your ECU out for the next couple nights. I've got an OEM alarm right now, and it works "ok", not fancy but better than nothing. Crimestopper alarms have good reviews, from what I've heard, but I'm no expert.

A little help from someone who just got robbbed.

Buy an alarm, always a good investment. If you can re-route your hood release cable somewhere where only you know about, do it. If a thief gets into your car (and is workin with someone), they will have your hood popped and your alarm wires cut within seconds, thus no more alarm. If they can't pop the hood from inside, they may not try to steal ur car anymore. Either that or hide the alarm wires somewhere they can't get to. Most thieves are experts so remember they probably have thought of everything you have and then some.

It seems you want basic alarm functionality. The install is more important than buying an expensive alarm. If you spend a lot on an alarm, make sure it has a pager output also.

Try adding a kill switch. Reroute the hood cable. Pulling the backup fuse under the hood will prevent the car from leaving also.

Now I need help if anyone can tell me how to add a glass break sensor?

Thats all I think I need and the alarm covers the rest I need. I am going to reroute the hood latch. Thanks

That won't work.

rerouting the hood cable won't hurt tho...will slow them down if they are still willing to deal with your car after they find out your hood cable is rerouted while hopefully the alarm was triggered by them messing with your fender liner.
my suggestion:

alarm w/ pager and backup battery
twin hooks steering will bar
autolock
alphalock (it's a boot that JeffNA sells here on the boards..i got one
fuel cut off
re-route hood cable
self powered sirens? (atleast place them in a hard spot so the cannot be easily ripped out.

before i purchased my car...i saw that they had stolen it by pulling my hood cable
from the fender and peeling my window i think to pull the power door locks to unlock my door.

personally, my car got broken into twice on labor day weekend. first night was the worst...sound system gone. they pulled the hood cable and peeled my passenger side window to hit the power lock button, unlocking my passenger side door.
the ****** thief left his latex gloves on the driver's seat. what an insult to injury. hope he gets shot in the nutts and gets his arms ripped off by two angry pitbulls.
2nd night they broke my rear drivers side quarter panel window and just took my
friend's purse.
i did NOT have an alarm at that time. i'm just glad i still have my damn car.

i think you have a crx so i dunno how they break into those..good luck..
and good to hear you bashed that guys window!! hahaha..atleast you got to do something like that and nothing happened to your car.

Re routing the hood cable is only good for amatuers. I can pop my hood by sliding my hand in the front grill and pull on the cable. I saw a guy do it on his car since his hood wouldn't pop and I tried on mine and it worked

****, the 40 alarm has a sound sensor that sets off the alarm if it hears the window break, the only thing I am going to add is a fuel cut off myself and ask the installer to add a siren with its own power source. Any idea on how much they will charge to install this alarm? how much extra for seperate siren and power source?

You are lucky to still have a car. Both my tegs were broken into once. They took the whole car both times.

Rough, how much would it cost to get my Fusion f2200 to get installed? Is it really that hard to install or would my pretty good wiring father be able to do it?

yah i saw that **** too
my friend did it on his civic alllll easy. i was "crap.."
but atleast amatuers will have a hard time stealing the car.
i was thinking of putting a black grill behind the front bumpers stock grill to prevent someone popping it from the front.

anyone know any good hoodlocks?
my friend has one that runs cables to hold the hood down so you can't pop it no matter what unless you unlock it by a switch hidden somewhere inside the car. i haven't talked to him for awhile, i remember he said it was some shop in san diego that did it.

You could smakc him over the head and just say we made the first swing and was self defense and of course they will believe you, they found the car and it turned out to be a close friend and his brother, I confronted them before they got arrested and tried to make a deal for them to pay for all my replacement parts + a few hundred bucks but they declined and got charged with Attempted Grand Theft Auto, a few selling stolen parts that were found in there car and a coupla gay ones the cops tacked on like disturbing the peace and inciting a speed contest because they did a burnout lol

if he decides not to steal it then he is probably going to pay you back for breaking his rear window. I would keep it in a garage or at a friends house for a few weeks.

dont buy Crimestopper anything. i had their GPS system and thieves got my ride. its a crock... just get a Lo Jack and believe me, they will take more than just your audio. if they were trying to get in on the passenger side with the pry bar, and had another car, they were gonna steal the whole car and strip it down guaranteed.
