Opinion on fastbrakes kits
I want to know everyones opinion on these brakes. If I purchase them, it will be for road racing. I'm pretty sure it's about 900-1000 bucks for the 4 piston 11 inch kit for the front of my EF. Worth it?
Brembo's cost a chunk, and I just want something to give me an edge in the corners. My b16a will be making way less hp than other cars in the class. So hopefully I'll be able to make up some in the corners. Do they make a Brembo black for EF's.....? hummm

I've never tried a Brembo-equipped crx for comparison, but on my crx, I do feel that the Fastbrakes kit has helped a great deal in autocrossing, so on a longer road racing course, they'd be even more help with fade and pedal feel(hopefully).
And most importantly, they look really bitchin'!

I have the front kit on my car with the 11" rotors and Integra calipers. The braking is fantastic. I use the car for open track events all the time and love the kit. I like the Integra calipers because they are very low maintenance. I believe the Wilwoods have to be bled very often since they have no dust seals.
im also looking into a brake upgrade soon , i know that the wilwood kit can be had for roughly 500 i think if i remember right all 4 all the way around, maybe my numbers are wrong....
but the catch is you need a 17" or bigger rim, id like to stick to the stock 15" maybe a 16 at best--
any suggestions as to how the fastbrakes setup is-- is it worth the 1G price tag.

a good buddy of mine, redcivicstandard, road races his civic hatch at gingerman and upgraded the brakes to 91 ex spindles and rotors and stuff, and it seems to work really really well, and this dude drives HARD.........he said he had NO fade at gingerman this saturday, and i saw him, he was pulling evo's and zo6's(they obviously sucked at driving or something). his civic does have a very large, very secret motor in it though

Well, you might have a slight problem with some rims. With my SSR Type X's, I had to slap on some 15mm spacers to get enough space to tuck in the calipers.
And doesn't Brian's website specifically say that some OEM rims won' t work at all?? Working from memory here, so might be off.

That's what I thought... You know if volk 15" rims will fit over them?

The problem with my X's is that they curve inward towards the outsides of the rims, and they were hitting the calipers, so the spacers put them out far enough to give room for the calipers.
It's like fitting Azenis on 15" rims and rubbing - seems to be totally hit-or-miss on what works. When mine didn't fti without the spacers, I wanted to return them, and he said no, so make sure that you'll want to do whatever you have to to make them fit. They are worth it it the end!

Stock brakes are sufficient enough for road racing and/or open lapping. In this I mean they will stop your car. Getting bigger brakes don't stop your car better only stickier tires do. Bigger brakes just allow for more heat dissipation allowing you to stop harder, longer, and more often on the track without having to worry about fade or boiling fluid.
I have the 11" kit with teg calipers on my crx which I take to open lapping days on a regular basis and I've NEVER even come close to fading brakes. BTW I use motul 600rbf fluid and carbotech Panther plus pads.

well id like to be able to stop sooner and with less effort-- so like coming from 60-0 in a shorter dist-- will the 11" rotor kit help or do i need 2 piston/ 4 piston calipers to do this....
