Finally got my new rims! 15in OZ superleggera, what do you all think?
sorry for the crappy pics...my friend let me borrow her digi cam for only 5min before we left for the movies. but anyways, got my new rims in about a month ago, but i was finally able to take pictures of them. they are 15in OZ superleggeras and i am running on Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. how do you guys like them?
old: 14in rims
new: 15in rims

btw, that fender gap is killing me! right now im on eibach prokits. what are some springs that will lower my car a little more? im hearing neuspeeds give a good drop, but im thinking about saving for some Ground Control coilovers.
theres my lip
:
do you think its time for a brake upgrade???

hope you enjoyed them. i would love to hear your input!

ozracing. com weighs them in at 5kg. yeah, can someone convert that? i dont know the metric system that well
however, the august 2003 issue of Sport compact car weighs them in at 11lbs.
wheelspecs.com (http://216.239.53.104/search?q...UTF-8) also weighs them in at 11lbs.
and i chose the goodyears because they were rated the #1 max performance summer wheel on tirerack.com. even though they are not as grippy as toyos, yokohamas, pirelli's, etc. they had a longer tread life. and ive done some research and a good majority of the people complained that the tires i mentioned earlier wore out pretty quickly. and besides, im not auto-xing or putting track time on my car, so i do not need that insane amount of grip. plus, these tires are extremely quiet considering they are max performance tires. they also have a rim protector built in so i dont scratch my rims when i make my sorry attempts at parallel parking

Looks good. Would have looked a lot better with 205/50s instead of 195/50s. Right now it just looks like there's not enough tire in proportion to everything else, and it's what is causing your increased wheel gap.
Brake upgrade? Why?

Or even better get some Tom motorsports coilovers for $60, they're very good copies of the GC and if the springs ever wear out or you want to change rates, from the 350R/450F, get some ERS. Mine work great with my koni yellows.
BTW good choice in wheels; I like the color combination.

imo, superleggera's don't look good in 15's, they're too small and makes the spokes look stubby. but other than that, the lip looks great.

Okay then Mr. Fancypants, would you like to explain to me why the majority of nationally competitive SCCA Solo-II Hondas and BMWs are using Ground Control coilovers, while NOBODY is using "Tein, HKS, Zeal, JIC Magic, or Buddy Club" coilovers?
Care to tell me why nobody in the Honda Challenge is using "Tein, HKS, Zeal, JIC Magic, or Buddy Club" coilovers?
Care to explain why, if you go into ANY road course and/or autocross forum and ask which coilovers to choose from "Tein, HKS, Zeal, JIC Magic, or Buddy Club," you will get laughed at?
If professional, competitive grassroots racers don't need the extra adjustability provided by your "blingin' slizzamin' JDM coilovas y0!," then you certainly aren't going to take advantage of them on the street. Folks who actually race, rather than riding around like stunnas on the streets, know what works the best for the least amount of money. Ground Control coilovers are the best solution you can get at an affordable, reasonable price.
And while you're trying to figure out how you should properly set up the coilovers that you overpaid for, and fretting over how you'll be able to afford to replace one if it breaks, I'll be out winning trophies with my Ground Controls.

Targa250R: I was considering the 205’s but I was worried about fender rubbing, but since I have these 195’s for now, I will consider changing sizes when these tires wear out. Oh and I just made the “brake upgrade” comment to comment on the rusted calipers and rotors.
whoDAT: that’s why I was stuck between getting 15in or 16in. haha, don’t flame me for this, but I originally wanted to get the 17in race gold versions, but I felt that 17’s were too big on del sols (and besides, those only came in 5 lugs, I know I could get a 5lug conversion, but decided not to). And I decided on the 15’s cuz that’s jdm style haha hammer me for my logic. But seriously, 15’s cuz of cheaper tires in the long run.
And the whole coilover argument: maybe if I get a better job and earn more pay, I will consider both the blingin' slizzamin' JDM coilovas y0!, and not so blingin' slizzamin' JDM coilovas y0!.

Looks very nice, but does need a little more of a drop. God I love that lip on your Del sol looks so nice. Keep up the good work!

the last thing i wanna do is steal this guys thread by starting and argument
i have ridden in several cars with coilover sleeves (both with stock and aftermarket shocks) i have ridden in a car with GC's and i'm in total agreement with u that they are very good coilovers (probably the best)
but i have yet to find a combo of sleeved coilovers and shocks that work as well as my (overexpencive) JDM bling FLTA2's
U have very good points and if u want to discuss (not argue) this more PM me so we dont take up this thread
as far as the honda challange comment, i looked at the 4 featured cars and none had GC's 2 had fill coilovers (1 was JIC) and 2 and spring/koni combos
oh and by the way i thought the fancypants comment was hilarious
