Default good motor for road racing?

As the topic says...I was going to go all motor in my crx, but then decided to go with more of a road racing set up. I was going to go with a stock b16 bottom end, and just get some nice cams to make better power throughout the power band, and port and polish the head with a nice exhaust. Do you think that would be good for road and autocrossing? Also I was going to go with the tein coil over system for my crx. Is that a good choice. Drag racing was fun, but road racing definitely blows it out of the water in a fun factor.

best motor?

the one you already have. The driver will be a much more important factor than the horsepower.

If you cant drive, and your tires/suspension sucks then a 400HP LS6 is not going to help you.

RJ, instead of argueing with him... why not just make him clarify whether he's talking about "roadracing" or racing on the road. When he says the later you can just lock the thread and be done with it.

I just want a good motor and i was just wondering if you guys think that it would hold up to whatever i can throw at it is all..I didnt want to get anybody all bent out of shape. Just asking a simple question. It will be my daily driver, yet I will take it to my local drag strip, and my local autox, roadracing events, and have fun on the back roads, I figured that you guys would know best because road race and autox it what I am going to do most.

since you havent actually done anything, you need to leave it stock. you will be suprised how little HP matters, especially for autocross.

but you can go ahead and put in a 220whp B20 - when you get rolled by a busted as stock motor'ed crx........
