Default tech: can anyone rig up S2000 cluster to fit DC2?

How hard would it be to do such a transplant? I am being serious with this tech question.

p.s. someone rigged up an S2000 cluster to EG... shouldn't be a problem in a DC2 then, right?

why?

I hate digital... but it's not like the analog readout is accurate anyway...

why?
For one, the cluster is just dark when it's not lit. On a serious note, isn't some sort of digital gauge what RTR uses?

Where there's a will there's a way.

I think RTR uses the "Pi" display. Mucho dinero.

Jesus Christ! That was the deciding factor in the wife and I not getting an S2000... We couldn't stand the lack of big readible analog gauges...

hey, I'm just asking a tech question. No flames for how sucky the digital gauges are. I don't even have one to put in my car, yet.

you both must be dyslexic or something because the s2k's tach and speedo are 10x easier to read quickly, even in bright sunlight.

spoon makes a half analog and half digital guage, where the analog being the tachometer, and the digital being the speedo.

Go here:
http://forums.clubsi.com/ubb/Forum38/HTML/002349.html

I don't know if it is functional but it is basically the same to put it in a DC or EG. Email the guy to find out how he did it.

I'll second that.
S2000 cluster = easy to read, and even flashes when you hit 9000.
Did you seriously let the digital guages keep you from buying the car?
Indeed,

i bet honda just put in digital gauges in s2000 to show how ahead in technology the s2000 is compared to other cars or something stupid like that.
yeah, considering a 1986 Nissan 300Z had a digital dash, that makes sense.....

hehhe....my '87 Cougar (remember? the car that had a 3.6 liter V6 that put out a whopping 120hp) had a digital speedo too....

I would guess it's probably to save weight and space. Most motorcycle manufacturers have abandoned analog instruments in favor for LCD and digital panels (however, they have kept an analog tachometer). Many functions can be combined into one LCD panel instead of having a separate guage for each function.

Actually if you take a look at a F1 car's gauges you will see that they are very similar to the s2000's. This would include the digital arc that serves as the tach. The s2000 gauges are pretty much a imitation of F1 car gauges, so I'm pretty sure it has some functional importance besides just looking cool.

If you're serious about this, talk to that guy at the next auto-x... You could maybe pay him to wire it up for you... It'd be kinda cool for you to have the only itr with that gauge swap, but make sure you get the speedo working too...

Ken - yeah, I guess Shane's (EK w/ B16 + S2000 gauge) gauge doesn't give Speedo. Which wouldn't exactly work. haha. I would like to see his car at the next autoX.

killingtime... #1 reason was no little back seats for the occasions when I do have to pick up my kids... #2 reason was the clincher... did not like the gauge pod at all! Yes I really had a dealer that was going to take my R in in trade with the yellow S2000 costing me a little less than $32k.
