Default Should I trade?

Should I trade my 98 Type R with 32,000 miles and JDM conversion, Cwestin Full kit and hood, Skunk2 coilovers, and DRAG gen. III turbo kit for a turbo 96 JDM RHD type R with fiber images carbon fiber hood, spoon carbon fiber front lip and 40,000 miles. What do you guys think?

I guess just to be different. Plus have some of the JDM goodies (seats, steering wheel, more HP) but i guess it will be a bitch to register so Im better off keeping mine.

No way. Why the hell would you want RHD? Are you gonna get out out the car at drive-thru's/toll bridges etc etc.

How does a turbo JDM ITR have more HP than your turboed ITR?

Correct me if Im wrong, but don't the JDM motors have more HP? So a JDM type R with the same setup would yield more HP right?

JDMs have more power due to more compression. But this high compression is detrimental when turbocharged, so USDM is a better base. Go USDM for once!

tisk tisk...... only like 5 more hp. Remember japan has higher octane. I used to be involved with all this jdm stuff, but now Ive seen the light, and its 80 percent bullshit. Only when the jdm stuff looks good and performs good, is when I bust. But other than that, nope.

The 96 spec JDM ITR (8/24/95-1/98) is essentially the same car we get here in North America minus cosmetics and the 11.1 CR. Unless you just want to be a JDM pimp, there is no real reason to trade a USDM R for a 96 spec car. The 98 spec ITR has a good number of tweeks, including the 4-1 header and different gearing, which is why it has a little bit better torque rating. 19.0 kgm @ 6800 RPM vs 18.5 kgm @ 7500 RPM. HP is the same on both cars at 200 ps @ 8000 RPM.

Also the 96 Spec has smaller brakes, and 4 lug
IMO It wouldnt be a good move trading Down to a 96 Spec

Thats a good point. What about parking garages, drive thru bank machines, drive thru fast food joints. IMHO thats a huge inconvience just to have something that is different from most others on the road.

Unless of course you dont use any of the above-mentioned modern conveniences, in which case you can feel free to tell me to rot in hell.

Not to mention passing on a two lane highway would be a little more work... how do you see around the car in front of you? You'd have to go off the shoulder and then switch back really fast and what if you didn't see the car that was actually coming??? WHAM.. your dead! All just so you can say I have a JDM Type R?? However it would be really funny to have a friend in the car and say stop in the middle of a street throw the bilnkers and have the friend get out of the car and then you drive away! The guy behind would be like what an *** leaving the car.. then he'd be like WTF???

like I said, throw some $ into Recaro´s, JDM/Euro rear lights etc. .. if you buy the JDM car you prabably have a car that´s really hard selling if you have to, so dont!!

You can tone down your compression ratio though (which is what he should have done). Keep the newer car my friend. Besides you don't "know" their car as well as you do your own.
