comptech exhaust install?
How much does it cost to install an axleback from the shop? Or should I do it my self? I have never installed an exhaust before. I would think it would be simple besides removing the bolts
an axle-back?
providing you have simple hand tools, some PB spray, and a lift/jackstands it should take about 20 minutes.
Hardest parts are the stubborn rubber hangers and 2 rusted bolts. And by hard I mean like the math problem 2+2 = 4

Use plenty of wd40 on the hangers. Use some liquid wrench on the bolts and as long as you remember that left loosy right tighty, it should be fine.
If you are installing a catback, do this FIRST:
LOOSEN the 3 bolts that are connecting the b-pipe to the cat, if you can't get those off, then you should forget doing the install. Very hard to reach and often seized/rusted.

Yup, do it yourself. I pulled off my exhaust in about 10 minutes and putting it back on later was about 25 minutes (rubber hangers needed some WD40 love)
you'll just need a jack, jack stand, 12mm wrench, and some WD40.

Why use WD40 on the hangers? so they dont rub or something? I figured it would be kinda easy... whats a liguid wrench as stated above? And if the bolts are seized, what do use to "penetrate" them (ie, what do I ask for at autozone)
Thanks for all the help guys, I know its a newb question.

I prefer PB Blaster spray over Liquid Wrench as my "rust penetrant"
the rubber hangers are often hard to slide off...simply greasing them a little will help you slide them off more easily.
for cat-backs...usually the top third bolt is a PITA. I usually drop the whole exhaust + cat to work on it. The 02 in the cat has a plug on it (pull the grommet from the body and you'll find the clip).

Well Im going to autozone tonight to buy the jackstands. Do you guys ever have a problem with the front of the car hitting the ground with the jackstands?
I was worried when I jack the whole rearend up and leave the front down that it might hit. What would be the best way to get the rear of the car up?
Remember its only an axleback so how high would it have to go, only so I can fit under im assuming.

I'd just get a 3-ton jack with stands from Sears...$99 usually.
The front won't hit...if the car is really slammed it will, but otherwise it shouldn't.
