Default just ran my car in the 1320, fairly happy.

so i just went to test and tune today to finally see what my car runs, i was hoping for low 15s to high 14s and it turns out that i made a bunch of 14.6xx and 1 14.5xx mostly at 98mph. traction is definently something i need more of, looking to get some slicks or at least radials, right now i have shitty 185 14s, not good at all. best 60ft was like 2.34 or so with 2.5 being average. the track i race at is at like 5,000 ft or so, thats why im a little slower than you sea levelers, even with the turbo. so your probibly wondering what my setup is, here goes.

94 civix vx
obd1 jdm b16a with lsd tranny
hks turbo manifold
aresearch T28 turbo
6-8 psi, non intercooled
gsr cams
msd 6a ignition
msd ignition pack
p72 ecu
vortec fmu, running pretty rich(help?)
dc sports short shifter
unbolted exhaust at cat(race only)
turbo XS manual boost controller(spiking caused by this?)
greddy type s BOV
shitty suspension
no spare, jack, etc.

anyone wanna recommend a next mod? im thinking a skunk2 intake manifold, and hondata intake manifold heat sink. then spearco liquid/air intercooler, the small one. then radials or slicks.

any comments or suggestions welcome.

Yeah, definitely work on some traction in your case. I have no idea what kind of sea level I'm at but with a stock 155k mile B16a3 in 90 degree weather I was still running high 14's with 2.3 60's.

ya, ya. keep in mind i am at high elevation, and though it doesn't affect me as much as NA cars, im still running a LOT slower than sea level. oh the temp was around 80 or so, maybe higher for a little while. the engine might be a little tiard, i got it used(2x former owners) it compression tested 175 flat, so its a bit low. oh yeah, and im running REALLY rich. can't wait to get intercooler and slicks, 13s here i come!

cool i hope it works out for you. TUrbos run are trickey, if you play with it and get some tunning and FMIC, if traction lets you. you should pull a lot nicer times

stfu....

i feel u with the elevation thing. they always bitch at me when i post my times on here also. but i say slicks would take the most time off your slip. then get an ic and then intake manifold, thats in order of most helpful with shaving off time.

your next mod should be either suspension or standalone. and high elevation hurts turbo charged cars more so than they do n/a cars. oh and with the liquid to air intercoolers, you better get a pretty big one. i'm not sure how they work for low psi applications but with my buddy's full drag civic, he was at 500+whp with a huge air to air intercooler and when he switched to a liquid to air intercooler, he lost 200+whp. reason was because the air was moving thru it so fast that there just wasn't enough time for the intercooler to cool it effeciently.

I think the 14s on shitty tires are most of your probelm, cause those are pretty high m.p.h.'s. You should be real low 14 or even a 13.99 might squek through. But keep up the good work, nice times regardless.peace.

thanks for the advice, come up here and say my times stink! lol. the track is PMI pueblo motorsports international. my friend with a integra type r was running 16.5xx then he got his engine warrantied(bad rings) and he ran a 16.3 for his best, he had spoon exhaust and an intake, so yes, elevation sucks.

anyways ya i think i will get the slicks first, then probibly axles since i think i will probibly break these. i might be buying a b18c block which i will forge the internals and switch it with my b16, that should shave some time off. but then traction is gonna be hard to get. i will let ya'll know when i get better or worse times.

I agree with the elevation, the air is thinner up there so you're pulling slower times. It happens to anyone at a track with a higher sea level. Also get some slicks

lol, when i think of it its pretty funny. i have heard of you guys at sea level complaining about elevation when you went up like 1000ft to race, im at 5,000. well i know what i need to address, and i strongly believe i will soon be in the 13s.

oh i have also heard that since i have to run outside the groove(where cars with slicks run) i loose a lot of traction since they were running low on vht so they barely sprayed outside the groove, hopefully i will get some slicks before the season ends.

The first time I went to the track I was running around the same times as you. I switched over to some slicks and after a couple times at the track I ran a 13.8 at bandimere.

Yeah. Colorado isn't very friendly for the Turbo folk. How much higher is PMI then Bandimere? Anyone know?

n/a cars run really bad in co a civic with 220 whp on slicks n/a can only run a 13.6. At sea leval the same car with just a ITR swap will run a 13.2.

edit: and pmi sucks

Those times suck nuts...even if you were at higher elevation...6-8 PSI turbo B16 with all that ****? **** GreddySi runs a 14.2 with a 92 VX and USDM B16a2...and thats on **** street tires at shitty capitol raceway...work on those 60fts!

yeah those times sucks ***... I've got a much heavier car than you... I got a 93 EX with a B16a2 with I/H/E and a 50 shot and ran a 14.56@101.83 with a shitty 2.56 60ft. and with street tires.... I think you need to get your **** tuned.... and get a FMIC too.... but good effort.... Later Mike

do any of you guys have a clue to the correction factor for 5000 feet???

his car is easily a mid to low 13 second car at sea level.
