did you bleed your system? how old is your thermostat? i'd recommend changing the thermostat if it's old. drain your system again and bleed it. put 50/50 in it, start the car with the cap off, and let it get hot. just keep it running and make sure your heater vent is open so it gets the air out of the heater core. once it looks like there are no more bubbles coming out of the radiator, put the cap on and drive it. park, let it cool and check again. i run just one fan on the inside drawing heat away from the radiator. the fan should only need to be on at low speeds when there is not enough air cooling the radiator. besides, it is a hp draw

Got a new thermostat and I bled the coolant system ....the thermostat was in the car when it over heated once and we replaced the headgasket so Im thinking maybe it messed it up?

Was the rad new when you got it?

Check the rad for cold spots. When the car is getting on the hot side, pop the hood and feel the rad fins, if some are colder then others then the rad is plugged.

Ill check for cool spots...it wasnt new but it was in perfect working order before I got it.... I'm gonna try a new thermostat tommorow since old one might be dmg'd and go with some of that coolant temp dropping ****.

Make sure you didn't put the thermostat in backwards.
