when you don't have the vtec hooked up, you can pour water and or sugar in the tank to make it go.
oh.. you didn't mean unleaded, you meant hi test... yes 93 octane.

You should NEVER use lawnmower gas(87oct).Stay in the middle-for now(if you are pressed by the prices),till you will be reving it hard with vtec then only use the high test.
Of course this can be highly debated, but I have seen a couple 99SI's,that ran the cheap stuff, not pretty after all that time. They need the high octane. On the flip side-your beater doesn't need super,it could cuase problems(once in a while is ok-to help clean injectors ,etc).
Believe it or not-All the tanker trucks come from the nearest depo,no matter if it's Shell,Mobil, etc. The only difference is the additives they add to thier particular brand.

I believe he's talking about a mini-me or SOHC vtec. If so you can run 87 all day and be fine especially without VTEC. We did a swap for a kid that couldn't afford the msd switch for vtec and he's run the car going on 2 years with no problems and he beats the crap out of it everyday.

If your motor doesn't have the compression to require or benefit from premium gas then you are wasing money by using it. If you use it in your lawnmower.....

mini me will raise compression to around 10:1 if you use the z6 head and the y8 gasket. i had a full tank of 87 when i finished it. the car ran but when i filled it up with 91 it ran better. now i run 91 all the time.
