I am thinking about buying a s2000 that looks like it was stolen, only the CD and the airbags are missing. How much is it to replace the airbags?

I was under the impression stolen airbags total a car, maybe thats removed dash. But yeah, junkyards and s2ki.com are your friends in the search for cheap ones.

 

yeah i think it is considered totaled that's why it's being sold as a salvage. the airbags are missing and the cd player along with the key. i dont think the car was in a flood b/c of this. i figure if everything else is tight, and all i need is replacing the airbags and cd player, that wont be too bad. can someone tell me if all s2k came with car alarm standard or not? plus, how do you check for flood damage?

Do a comp/leakdown/physicall test of the motor, thieves tend to drive it like they stole it. Just be careful

Yes, do that.....take it to a mechanic or even a Honda dealer and have them give it a full run-thru, it'll be worth it.

No, the S2K does not come stock with an alarm system. It does come with the keyless entry feature (that I believe is the same as the ones on the Civics). I think the only "stock" theft deterrent is the coded key.
