my freinds gsr .... bought it last month, and he can't wait to start the project
he has about 5k to spend on it ... any suggestions ???

looks like its in good shape. suggestions....tien complete coilovers, good tires on the blades, full exaust header,cat,cat back, AEM CAI, skunk 2 valvetrain with stage 2 cams, high compresion pistons, forged rods. couple other odds and ends. thats the path i would take. He could get a good turbo set up with that cash if thats his style. good luck

In this order if its N/A..
Full Tein suspension, $ for alignment car alarm, intake, header, exhaust, cams, cam gears, pistons, rods..and maybe new tires or new rims

 

Do suspension first. IMO. Get some nice brand-name coil overs, Tien, JIC, Apexi, I dunno anything ya like. Then a sway bar/tie bar combo. Then tires.

That is how I would start it.

sticky tires, $500-$600
full exhaust $1200
AEM CAI $250
skunk 2 valvetrain $500
skunk stage 2 cams $900
maybe a couple hundred more for installs

thats around $4500. thats if u cant find any deals anywhere and if u have to pay for all the installs. the rods and pistons i mentioned will take u over $5000 but he can save for those. still nowhere near 10k.

oh, and for the turbo path, rev hard full kit or greddy full kit $3000-$3500. he can put together a custom setup for around $2000 with some used parts.

if those are the only paths available I would go with suspension.........but another way of spending 2500 is turbo........yum!

yeah. if u look at my original post i explain what i meant by full exhaust.

 

h22 that *****, sell the gsr motor and get some dope suspension you're good to go...pyr did it back in the day for a customer(one of his boys, i think), came out sick, might be a novelty i guess, but you're getting some crazy torque...we can dream right.
