why has honda never gone turbo?
well ive bin thinking about this for a long time. honda is like the only car company that hasent released a turbo car. toyota, mitus, nissan, even fords. if they slaped a small turbo on there stock it would own the compition.

It's not a car, but the CX500TC motorcycle was turbocharged:

Also, they have been turbocharging F1 engines for over a decade. They obviously have experience with turbo applications, but for some reason don't see it as a viable solution for their cars.
There are many ends to a goal, Honda chose to do it the way that they are most comfortable with, and given Hondas reliability record it would be hard to question their dcision to make very reliable performance engines.
Cheers,
Roy

personally, i think they are just waiting until the time is right - they could do it now, but don't. its all about $ for the guys who make those decisions.

Honda actually offer turbo car/bike in the past in japan....but,
There a some good reason why Honda Dont factory-turbo car:
Honda is well known for reliability and high mpg.
Honda is known for big power in small pakage(hp/liter).
N/A=less maitaince, also more reliable.
Biggest reason why Honda wont turbo, ...is because sale, marketing demanding, etc. Basically Honda sales is good the way it is, so they dont need turbo...it wont help much, it might even loss in profits. Take the new Dodge neon srt4 for example, they might go fast with turbo and sale for less but whats the profit that they are making=not much!!.....as for Honda, the new civic Coupe dont even offer the DOCH vtec..and the sale still hold strong!!
Who needs stock turbo anyway, they are just tooooo small!!
but.....maybe we should ask Honda to provid a BULLET PROOF stock motor instead of factory turbocharged motor!!!
