Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a supercharger for Civic Si and the installation was
finished Wednesday by Inline Performance. As I was picking up the car, one of the techs stated that my car detonate. To be honest with you, I had no idea what Detonation was until I talked to a friend of mine. The Tech at inline stated that in order to fix the detonation, I would need to purchase a aftermarket fuel pump, and SAFC. I asked another friend of mine and he said all I need is the fuel pump and that should fix the problem.

Detonation happens when there isn't enough fuel being delivered to your engine. If you do any kind of force induction, you need to upgrade your fuel delivery, i.e. better fuel pump, fpr, fuel rail, and possibly bigger injectors. If your engine does not provide the proper fuel when you force feed all that air into it, kaboom!! As far as the SAFC goes, I'm not sure if it's mandatory to have it but I'm sure it would help. I need to get some directions to inline. It's in Springfield right?

Detonation= BAD!

Detonation is when the air/fuel mixture ignites prematurely in the combustion chamber. It is usually the by-product of a lean condition (not enough fuel) and can cause major headaches because of the tremendous heat produced by the detonation. Solve the problem soon, or you'll be looking right through the top of your pistons...

In addition to the fuel delivery, you'll want to look at your timing and stick with a very high octane fuel. You also might want to look at Lead additives (or substitutes) as they slow down the combustion process.

If you need more info, head to the Tech forum and search for Detonation...

PS- Don't use real Leaded gas, as it will plug up your Cat and soften valve seats...
