Sure it's not that tough. Just take your time. What kind of spring compressor you using? I've found the overhead type to be best on Honda heads.

alright.... as far as spring compressors I have no idea. Actually where can I buy one of these and how much do they go for. I dont need the fancy one that can take the springs out when the head is on still just a regular one.
Thanks

you can buy is at NAPA or any tools store. one thing you have to do is make a extension so it can press down on the retainers so that you can get the valve keepers out of the way.

I have one of those fancy spring compressors from Snap On that uses the cam caps as the base never been used and I would sell it relatively cheap

Either go with a used snap-on overhead unit like our bro here is selling, or get a knock-off from northerntools.com. I got one and it works splendidly.

Snap-on, Mac, and Cornwell make wonderful tools, but that compressor costs about a third what the snap-on tool does and you won't be using it often. I have one and it works perfectly. Take the $$$ you save and put them in your piggy back toward some snap-on wrenches, which will actually make a difference and may almost be worth the big bucks they get.

Everybody here missed that he said he has VALVES as well as springs. He will need to take the head to a machine shop to have the valves clearneced in the guides properly. Unless he has done this before- but I am guessing not becuae he wouldn't have asked eh question. If you are using the stock valve guides with your new valves you may as well have the shop install the new springs as well. The charge will be nominal. But if all you are doing is the springs then yeah.......what they all said above. Use a snap on tool and have at it.
