Default Blown tranny, what could've happened?

Hi, last night I was taking off from a light [not dumping the clutch or anything], and was accelerating somewhat aggressively, when shifting into 3rd the car free-spun like in neutral. I thought I missed 3rd but tried going back into 2nd and it went right into 2nd gear position but didn't engage the gear, and it also did that for 1st, when I pulled over I thought I broke an axle, but didn't hear anything [from the front-end], so I tried going into 1st and it didn't engage either. Now the car doesn't even engage 3rd, 4th, 5th or reverse, only shifts to the 1st-2nd position. I didn't see any leaks under the car BUT the housing did have a crack in it [I just added 1qt honda mtf about a week ago]. Earlier the day it was popping out of 5th gear on the highway + 3rd on the streets when I would feather the gas. what could've blown? synchro's + diff? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

PS. Its a hydro b-series tranny, thanks

Sounds dumb, but are you SURE its a crack? Could be a casting mark from when they are made.

sounds like the shift selector is checked out

pull the tranny separate the housing and investigate ..9 outta 10 times its somethin that can be repaired fairly quickly

Check the shift piece for bends when you take it apart as well. Mine bent when I lost fluid due to a torn seal.

naa, I'm pretty sure its a crack, there was fluid leaking from there since I've put it in. I've been monitoring it and adding fluid as necessary but I apparently something went and its gotten worse.
